Yes, you should tell him.

I know someone who lied to a guy about her age and told him she was 16 when she was really 13, and he slept with her. Now everybody utterly hates her.

It's not quite the same, because this guy can get into serious trouble, whereas the footballer can't, but either way you're lying and misrepresenting yourself to him, which just isn't cool.

Was it Rio Ferdinand? Be honest. It was, wasn't it?

One year won't make a diff surely!
But its better if you tell him... he'll appreciate it.

He probably won't care that you're 17 when you told him you're 18. Its not like you're secretly a pensioner or something like that.

Squelchy - was defo not rio ferdinand  , but quite well known
Ayaz - I agree.

How do you reckon I go about telling him then? Don't know why I lied :frown: , think was probably in shock he was talking to me.

"I'm 17."

Tell him that.

You should probably just mention your birthday coming up, and say you're really looking forward to your 18th - it'll be really good etc. Then just casually mention that you always feel like you're 18 already, esp. as people say "you look about 18."
I think it could work - I had a friend who always said she was 18 when people asked in the year when we were all turning 18, just because she actually thought of herself that way. Age ain't nothing but a number...

You should probably tell him simply because if you get IDd in a pub or club with him and don't have any on you it could get really embarrassing. It won't matter.

Oh come on, he's a footballer, he'll at least have sex with her before he dumps her!

Just say you're almost 18 or something, if it was close to my birthday, I'd always end up saying the age I was almost, and then going oh wait, I'm not that until next week..or whatever

hahah!

Nah don't tell him, wait abit till your both more comfy with each other.
Be honest whenever you met someone tell them your true age, i can't understand why you lied about your age like that especially as you only said you was one year older.

Go on, who was it?

Or at least tell us who he plays for!

well when you do go out with him, just kinda slip it into a conversation you're nearly 18.
then he'll be like ''oh but you said you were 18'' and you can then just say ''nah think you got me wrong''.

but yeah as everyones said one year won't make much of a difference, as long as hes not something like 21/22.. then to be 18 is ''crucial'' for some lads.

you are nearly 18 arent you?
Its only one year, im sure he wouldnt make such a big deal over it!

Just slip it into the convo. He'll be fine about it.

I really don't suppose he'll care. If you said you were 18 but you were actually 15, then that could be a problem.

as long as hes not something like 21/22.. then to be 18 is ''crucial'' for some lads.

Even if he is that old, or even older, it's unlikely to be an issue. It's pretty normal for 21/22 year olds to date 17 year olds. The only problems with it are practical issues about not being able to get into clubs. But in this case I'm sure a semi-famous footballer will have no problem getting a 17 year old into a club.
