anyone?
Well theres obviously going to be a lot of chemstry involved as its a specific subject requirement. The biological aspect will probably be mainly biochemically related e.g. mechanism within the body, nerve receptors etc. There will be nothing about crap like plants and ecology (sorry for you who like plants and that)

That's not strictly true. Natural products

errrr I hate botany! Gibberelins suck!

There's quite a bit of physics aswell. So far really boring stuff, crystal structure, diffraction techniques for finding the structures, some basic AS stuff about atomic structure and excitation, photons etc. Last week we were given a formula sheet about 6 pages long, looks a lot worse than the one you get for A level physics.

Yeah but do you study them on how we need them to prevent global warming and why use their fibres etc. Oh I just hate plants:mad: :p:

Why is there physics in pharmacy i would have though its mostly chemistry with a bit of biology and thats it. Wheres the physics come into it?
Well physics is everything and everything is physics.

Physics derived from Maths
Chemistry derived from physics
Biology derived from Chemistry
Pschology derived from Biology

Its how sciences work

Obviously, you'll need to know about x-ray crystallogrpahy, laser technology etc. which involves physics and thermodynamics as well.

I'm doing chemistry and physics for my two sciences. I wanted to do biology at the start of AS too but they said the classes are too full. Physics is a good subject to have, it's declining now.

molecular modelling too!

The first yr. at Mancs. is an absolute nightmare esp. as you're doing the Physics module! The exam for it isn't too bad and you won't face stuff like that again.

The course after second yr consists of an equal mix of bio and chem in science content and it's not too bad actually. You do learn about phytotherapy but it's more about alternative medicines than plant biology.

i hate physics

same here, but i got it done(painfully) at long last
I didn't enjoy mechanics so I imagine physics wouldn't be my thing. Although it was probably because everyone in my class except me was taking physics aswell as mechanics so they all seemed much better at it than I was :frown:. It was painful.

erm..more chemistry for pharmacy, more biology for medicine me thinks...
Reply 16
in pharmacy course A, we have pharmology (moatly biology), chemisty and biochemistry....50-50 mixed of both really (atm) lol

I did mechanics too, wasn't that bad but it was rather boring.lol. I'm doing M2 now and because I've dropped physics it seems as if it is completely different from all of my other subjects.

I know! Everyone keeps going on about how interesting it is and i'm just like   .

Also, everytime the word projectile was mentioned, in my head in was succeeded by the word vomiting, which didn't exactly make the lessons fun for me. That's my own fault for having such a twisted mind though :p:
