I feel like I'm always tagging along to other peoples' groups who have been together longer and I don't always feel welcome despite being pretty easy to get along with and relatively normal ....

Experiment with clogs or raise your self esteem somehow?

"Groups" are so annoying when no one else is allowed to join. Why do people have to be like that? Why can't groups of friends have other friends?

Yep. Pick one group you feel most in sync with, and spend more time with them.
