Psychology at Swansea

Hi I am thinking of studying psychology at Swansea uni. Just wondered about the course there and Swansea in general.
What is the actual uni like, town, student life and things to do there? I get the impression of a few people that it is quite isolated?
It looks really good so I am really keen on going I just wanted an honest opinion of people who go there now.

I don't know where you got the impression it is isolated from. the uni is about 2 miles from the city on the main road from Swansea to mumbles. it is set in a huge park across the road from a beach and the view is fantastic. the city centre itself is quite small and has Debenhams marks and spencer boots w h smith bhs hmv next top shop river island primark new look body shop Wilkinson waterstones argos and lots of other shops as well as wales largest indoor market. it does not have a house of fraser or ikea. in addition it has a large leisure centre indoor bowling centre 2 multi screen cinemas and a casino. it has loads of restaurants I think there are 250 eating places in the city of Swansea and multitudes of pubs, the nightlife area known as wind street has about 15 pubs including several clubs and has about as many restaurants. wind street houses many well known national brands including Yates Walkabouts Pitcher and Piano Wetherspoons Ask Frankie and Bennys and TGI Fridays. It also has several notable locally owned bars including the No Sign which was a favourite of Dylan Thomas and the Adelphi which reputedly was the only time Rocky Marciano got knocked out. Catherine Zeta Jones used to frequent the Bras when she was younger. mumbles also has lots of restaurants pubs and shops and there are also eating and drinking places in the marina and uplands. Swansea is just off the m4 and has hourly train services to London (3 hours) and Manchester (4 hours). There are connections in Cardiff for Nottingham and at Bristol Parkway for the North and South West of England. The gower is britains first area of outstanding beauty and has numerous award winning beaches including Caswell Langland Three Cliffs Oxwich and Rhossilli which has been voted 9th best beach in the world by Trip Advisor clients. It has a premiership football team and a top level rugby team. finally there has been an itv2 series about Swansea students called freshers which is availble on itv I player. there is a link on a previous thread here and I have also posted an article on Swansea nightlife and beaches on another thread
