Breast lump

My sister has just told me that she has a lump just under the surface of her nipple. It started out looking like a spot, then grew to the size of about two peas and has now shrunk down to the size of half a pea. She is obviously worried that it is breast cancer (she is 18).

I told her that it probably isn't as it has shrunk down again now and I don't think that is likely to happen in the case of cancer. Is it worth her going to see the gp if it looks like it is going away?

Has anyone else had anything like this?

Tell her to get it checked out.Im 19 & have recently found a similar thing and im going next week. Your rite, its unlikely to be cancer but it is best to get things like this checked out!

i havnt had anything like it.
i think she should go to the doctors or whatever just to get it checked out to be on the safe side.
I have a lump and eventually decided to go to the doctors and it wasn't actually embarresing at all (although I did got to a different GP who was female because I thought it might be weird to go to the man who's known me all my life!)
Anyway put my mind to rest sooooo much it was so worth it, it's just not something I think about anymore where as I used to think about it almost everyday.
You can rationolize all the reasons you want as to why it won't be cancer, but if the doctor confirms it it's just so much better
Any kind of lump like that get it checked out.

I have a lump in my breast but at the side closer to my arm and eventually i went to the Doctors about it. He examined it and then he referred me to a specialist at hospital, he said it was unlikely to be anything serious due to my age, etc, but it was unusual so he decided to refer me. The specialist Doctor also examined it and got me some tests like i had to have an ultrasound on it etc. They think it's just a lymph node which has swollen up or something like that and it's harmless, but said i should keep checking it and go back if it changes at all or if i want to get it surgically removed (). I was really worried about it but turns out it's fine so you should tell your Sister to visit her GP, that's the only way to put her mind at ease and the only way she's gonna find out what it is! I've never heard of the growing/shrinking thing so have no idea sorry but i suggest that she visits her Doctor to have it checked out! You could go with her for support i'm sure she would appreciate it  my boyfriend came with me and was very supportive and i appreciated that! Good luck and i'm sure it's nothing to worry about! x

I'm not familiar with the 'Pea scale' but I would recommend the doctors.
