    Notion seconded.

From reading the OP's post i can't really see why their father reacted in such a way, although my dad is sort of like that, he'll get ****ed off at the drop of a hat, although, he has never ever physically hurt any of the family.

Just try to forget it, it sounds like he's not a bad guy, just perhaps has a bit of a problem with controlling his inner rage. Like my dad It'll blow over.
Yeah, great advice there. Here's some more, slip the jab...

Uggh, dads. I told mine once to pick my friend and I up at 10pm.

But for some reason he seems to think it's 9:30, so he comes along there, and sits there for a while until he gets fed up and goes home. (It takes him less than half an hour to get fed up usually.)

So I come out and notice he isn't there, so I call home to ask where he is. He starts yelling at me, but does say he'll come and get me. But then the whole lift home, even with my friend in the car, he's yelling at me. It was pretty embarrassing. I think my friend is well scared of him now! :p:

He told me I'd said 9:30, my step-mum confirmed I'd said 10... he just said oh.

I don't know why I told you this really because there was no demoestic violence involved which is what the threads essentially about. But it's a similar story besides that!
