As with any interest it'd more depend on how the express their interest.
Having different hobbies and interests is incredibly likely and also healthy so that you're not spending 24/7 together.
If their interest in anime means they want to decorate our bedroom in anime though, it's a dealbreaker.

Yeah I currently am. My bf has loved anime since he was 12. I don't see the appeal in it myself but I don't mind that he likes it.

Yes, my boyfriend has recently gotten quite into it. I would never watch it myself but I don't care that he does. I tease him about it now and again but, then again, he teases me about my enjoyment of chick flicks. I bought him a couple of anime DVDs for his birthday - it'd be boring if we both liked all of the same things.
