See if you are looking to record messages thorugh a computer system, would you need a voice modem or would you need a normal modem and a voice modem??

And secondly do you need a both, hardware and software to be able to record messages.

I have got 'call corder' as the software and 'voice modem' as hardware- is this right please help me?

You can get a sound recording software (for free) and then plug some headphones into the mic part of the comp. But I think you need more than that. That is one way of doing it though.

you record stuff through a microphone and soundcard not a modem, or do you mean phone messages?? If so a normal modem should be OK.
