I know some schools make their students take a subject in a particular area/faculty, like a language, or at least one humanity, but has any one been forced to do a, quite frankly, useless subject?

My school made my year pick a technology subject to do GCSE level (I picked Product Design), which is very annoying as I have no interest in tech, and will probably end up getting a C - based on mock exams and already completed coursework. Although, my target is an A* because I am good at the core subjects which have no correlation to technology. I would much rather do another academic subject where I will get a grade that won't stand out like a C amongst As and A*s than tech. This was all because my school was (at the time) a 'technology specialist' school, but due to government changes (I think?) they were stripped of this title the year after, so the year below me don't have to do it. *sigh*

Anyway, rant/life story over haha, anyone else had similar experiences?

Ask your parents to tell the school you don't want to do it. My friend did this and didn't get a D in art

We have to do RE and Triple Science. I'm extremely glad we have to do Triple Science; I'm not sure whether I would have chosen it, and I am incredibly glad that I am doing it.

I'm in year 11, so too late now! Kind of wished I had done something about it, not that school would have done anything about it..

Oh yeah we also had to do ICT Cambridge Nationals but I wasn't too bothered about that because it was only 2 hours a week in year 9.

In my school we are forced to do RE because of the Catholic crap. As someone said its an easy A*.
My lowest grade in RE was a D+ that was the first RE GCSE exam I did. Now i'm on a A* in Year10
