    Has anyone here seen Raffles?

It's an awesome set of stories about a pair of gentlemen-thieves in late Victorian London. Raffles is an amateur cricketer (public school background, no fixed profession etc) and Bunny, who was his fag at school, takes on the role of Watson.

They go around late Victorian London committing ingenious crimes, or sitting around at the bar of the Travellers Club smoking cigars and reading the cricket scores. There is a vaguely homoerotic colour to the relationship between Raffles and Bunny, and Raffles was actually based on a guy called George Cecil Ives who was a very early advocate for homosexual rights (and also a cricket fanatic, classicist, etc)

It was made into a TV series in the late 70s. I think its awesome, but i can see how it might not be everyone's cup of tea. If you enjoy Sherlock, Tinker Tailor, Reilly Ace of Spies, amongst other things, you'll probably like this.

Thanks for sharing this. I truly love the movies of that era. The episodes of Sherlock Holmes were so amazing, so I guess that this will also be of great interest for me and many other people.
