    In this situation, you need to remember that you're looking at the isotopes inside a molecule not the abundance of the molecule which is why people get confused

    For the second one, you need to think about which molecules are polar and which are not. You can draw a diagram of each if it helps and see where the polarity is. You should see that tetrachloromethane has negative bits all around and a positive bit in the middle. Because of that symmetrical distribution of charge (instead of having one end being delta positive and one end being delta negative), the molecule is non-polar so isn't really affected by charge.
