    what is dy/dx of cosec2y

    so i did

    U=2y u'=2dy/dx
    V=cosec2u v'=-2cosec2ucot2u

    And times u' by v'

    To get 2dy/dx X -2cosec2ucot2u

    = -4cosec2ucot2udy/dx

    Which is wrong apparently?

    Any help ?

    Don't you have anything more enjoyable to do on Christmas than writing equations?

    (d/dx)f(y) = f'(y)(dy/dx)

    To differentiate cosec(2y), use chain rule and the equation
    (d/dx)cosec x = -cot x cosec x

    Oh, and substitute x = cosec(2y) to get your final answer
