I have no idea what is in fashion for boys. I know that right now a girl would love to get a micheal kors watch, but what are the watches that all the guys want? I'm thinking of getting a watch for a guy but I have no idea what kind of watches boys wear these days. Any help from boys directly or from girls who have bought watches for guys would be really appreciated.

    What's your price range?
    Is he sporty?
Would he prefer a nice stylish watch or a solid durable one that can battle through anything?

Here's a few brands to consider, with a style I would wear:
Skagen, Braun, Mondaine, Daniel Wellington, Larsson Jennings, Uniform Wares

On the ultra cheap side look at the Timex weekender.

These are based on the visual aspect, most of these brands are minimalistic which appeals to me. Personally I find Michael Kors watches to look a bit tacky. Most similar male equivalents would probably be Armami and other fashion brands which have watch lines.

If you want a watch made by a company known for watchmaking I'd recommend tissot or similar brands who offer pretty decent mechanisms for relatively little.

    Hi
My price range is up to 60 pounds. And I think he would prefer more of a stylish watch which also looks a bit smart. Thank you

Thank you, you gave me a lot of information there. I have recently looked up a Ben Sherman watch. What do you think of them?

Lots of fashion/sport brands (Armani, Ben Sherman, Nike, Adidas etc.) have watches in that price point, which I'd be staying well clear of. There's probably nothing especially wrong with them, it's just a bit of a faux pas.

There's a few Citizens around £60 which would be good watches - either this one for a clean, modern design or this one for a more classic look.

A bit more expensive, but I'm loving Orient watches at the moment. The Mako divers watch looks good, but I'd go for the classic Bambino. Both look great value around £100 and are automatic mechanical movements, which tend to be considered in higher regard than quartz movements.

As a watch kinda guy, I'd always be wary buying watches from companies who don't focus on watches (i.e. fashion brands).

Your best bet (in my opinion - other guys might differ) would be a watch from Seiko, Citizen or Rotary. All are reputable, affordable watch brands.

Some examples (no idea what your boyfriend's aesthetic preferences are):

Try something of Casio, Giordano, G-shock watches. Analog round dial, metal band would look nice for guys.
