    Anyone think these are worthwhile?

From my understanding you can buy bonds but you can get your money back at anytime? Is this correct?

Apologies for my ridiculous lack of knowledge!

You're better off with an instant access savings account tbh, you're guaraunteed to make some interest on whats in the account.

With premium bonds you're entered into a sort of "lottery" but theres no guarauntee of winning and you're likely to get more from interest than your chance of winning.

you buy the bond - effectively lend it to the govt.

there is no interest payable but 'prizes' are drawn against bond nos - effectively a raffle

if you hold a decent amount of bonds for a rerasonable time it;s supposed to give a return not dissimilar to savings accounts , BUT, there is a chance of a big win on the 'raffle' aspect of it ...

Yes, but the same is true of instant access savers, and you get guaraunteed interest as long as the account is in credit.
