Hull will be fine after last night. Beat Burnley and they're safe, or failing that they will fancy their chances of beating a Spurs side who will be doing their best to avoid the Europa League (Pochettino has said he'd rather not qualify).

Unless one of them can win this weekend I can't see the bottom 3 changing at all.
Wouldn't bet against QPR beating us this weekend to be honest.

Leicester will be fine if they stick with this 3-5-2. It allows Albrighton a new lease of life and yet again, tonight he was brilliant. Vardy is reinvigorated, too, which helps at this stage of the season and lifts the burden of Ulloa.

Problem is vardy played with injections Saturday and looked shattered by the end of this evening. Whether he's 100% or not is a worry, particularly with nugent out. Play like we have and we'll give Newcastle a tonking given how little they're up for it at the moment but injuries to huth, schlupp, king, nugent and a half fit vardy leaves us under strength.

It's Huth's that is the big blow.

The three-man defence of Wasilewski, Huth and Morgan has been so solid - and Cambiasso orchestrating the midfield in front of them gives a dynamism to the play. With Ulloa up front, you still have pace to trouble a stagnant Newcastle defence.

It's unfortunate about Schlupp, too, because he's given license to get in behind the defenders and full-backs opposite Albrighton, who was immense tonight.

Would've watched the match, but saw it was 1-0 at HT so didn't bother.

SLF is a proper fan so hope they stay up for him, but not at our expense.

A good night for the Villa.

Horrible man. Would like Leicester a lot more if it weren't for him.

Huths a big blow but I don't think it's a coincidence that this mini-revival has come as King has returned - much as I like James, he didn't really work with Cambiasso, Kings defensive game is so underrated, even by Leicester fans - he get's billed as the invisible man because you don't notice him if he doesn't score, but it's because he reads the game well enough that he rarely needs to make a tackle.

Charlie Austin linked with a move to Bournemouth in the Summer. Simply, a great acquisition for the Cherries if it comes to fruition.

Interestingly, Sam Allardyce has said Callum Wilson would be too expensive for West Ham.

pre-match press conferences in 45 minutes, I really hope someone turns up to Pearsons with an Ostrich costume.

Don't know why people are making a big deal out of it though tbh - he's been pitting the media against him all season, you listen to and read interviews like the guardians a couple of weeks ago and he's perfectly reasonable, almost certain he's just trying to create a siege mentality. Besides, I'm certain if someone like Mourinho came out with that it'd be 5k likes on LadBible, "top bants" and all that rubbish.

He came across well in that Guardian interview, admittedly, but last night was ludicrous. His arrogance seemingly knows no bounds, so it's obvious the knives would be out for him and it would cause a media furore as journalists are out to get him really.

The journalist last night asked him perfectly legitimate questions. He was trying to get Pearson to expand upon his argument.

Funny thing is that Bournemouth wanted to sign him when he was in non league, but they had a transfer embargo at the time so Swindon stepped in and the rest is history. I doubt he'd go there now though, Liverpool are probably readying a £20m bid...

Sunderland- I hate them. Negative football, don't ever try and actually win a game then scrape a lucky goal.

Villa- Awful team, play awful football and fans have a self-righteous attitude because of one European cup.

QPR- Harry and his bull**** constantly, a terrible manager with an awful team despite spending so much money.
