    Okay so this is the sort of thing guys should be taught at school maybe, but are tulips or, if not, red lillies in season currently? Preferably I want to get tulips.

    Girls you can all go 'aaaah' at this point.

    Now we can all educate ourselves in flowers

    Tulips are generally Spring flowers, they won't flower in winter anywhere. In the UK, bulbs are generally planted in September, so I doubt you'd find fully grown flowers anywhere . Sorry!
    Red lillies are probably a better bet, don't really know much about their growing seasons, but they'll be imported from all over the world, so you stand a fair chance of getting them if you go to a posh florist.
