This might be a really stupid question but, if i got a rejection from a uni because of bad grades but in the summer I managed to get what they were asking for would I still have a chance of going there through clearing?

Or because they've already said no is that it? No chances of getting in?

    Thanks

    Yes, you could?
If you get the grades and they have spaces you could. I think if you do better that expected it's called adjustment.

In general yes, probably a better chance that someone who has not previously shown an interest in the university. The exception would be for courses with an interview process, if you were interviewed. Of course not all universities go into clearing.

You would only be successful if you were only rejected because of your grades. Usually, though, it's due to a combination of factors. If, for example you had a weak reference you're then unlikely to get in even with improved grades.

Some unis have the policy where if they reject you once this means they have rejected you for the whole year meaning if you reapply for the same year entry they will reject you again so you will have to take a gap year.

I know this is true for manchester and UCL.
