Are these GCSE grades good enough for Optometry at UOM?
    4A*s, 4As, 2Bs
Also, what kind of work ex is needed for Optom? I hear that the university of Manchester is not so lenient, is this for GCSE grades too?
GCSE grades are fine, if you looked at their entry requirements you would see they wanted at least an C in english language and a B in Maths. For Work experience , you can try your local, specsavers, Boots, Vision Express and even your local hospital.

Oh and regarding work experience maybe get a Saturday job at a local optician? Also I would try and sit in on some tests. Maybe try and get experience in big branch stores as well as local independents. You could also try and get some experience in hospitals like say moorfields (dunno if they even offer work experience)
Experience with people would also be great so maybe volunteer in an old peoples home and help out and primary schools to show that you can work with people (as you'll need to have good people skills)
