Improper integral - FP1 watch

1. Could you tell me what you guys get because my answer is different to the book but I'm sure I have it right.

find the integral x-1/x^5, with limits 1 and 0.

Cheers!
2. What did you get?
3. -1/42 i think
4. you?
5. -1/12
6. u got any working please??
7. (x-1)/x^5 = x^-4 - x^-5
integrates to -x^-3/3 + x^-4/4
= -1/3 + 1/4
= -1/12
8. I get -1/12.

Damn it.
9. book says 3/2 ???? and how did u get all ur x-4 -x-5 stuff? what rule did you use and stuff?
10. (a+b)/c = a/c + b/c
11. i see, so it's just the book being wrong (again)
