I can't deal with his mess Watch

It isn't my mess...but still. I went to the guy I'm seeings house last night for the first time and I can't forget what I saw inside. I know for a fact he had enough time to tidy up, so I think he genuinely lives like this. He seems to groom himself well and takes care of his car .however as soon as I got inside his house I was in total shock. There were shoes and random items just scattered around the hallway, the floor clearly needed to be hoovered. As i got to the top of the stairs there were piles of clothes taking up Half the walkway..the bathroom was filed with random items here and there.

His bedroom looked half okay with one half with old furniture and Other stuff plonked on top, the floor needed to be hoovered and there was one too many socks laying around which I ended up mentioning. I was asked to take off my shoes which made no sense because they floor was a state. His brothers room was filled to the rim with random Furniture and clutter, I'm not even sure where his brother sleeps. On my way out I peeped in the living room and it looked like an antique store... It's almost as if no one lived there. I was so confused...I remember asking if he was a tidy person and his description was nothing like what I saw.

I spent most of the time trying not to look around incase my eyes gave it all away. It's just not the way I live or the way anyone I know lives. It reminded me of the hoarder programme to be honest :/. I still like the dude and I'm not going to run away in the other direction because of it. I just wanna know how I forget about what I saw? Do I bring it up in conversation? ' hey why do you have 10 chairs and 5 old tv's hanging Around?'

No don't mention it? Why would you do that?

Just carry on seeing him and if it gets too much then leave. If him and his car are groomed then there is an explanation as to why his house looks like that..I don't know what it is, but there has to be a reason for this.

Or maybe he just likes people to think he is tidy?

    I don't know

Lol. I was joking about mentioning it. I guess I will have to wait to hear if there is a reason behind it.

No offence, but it's their house, they can have it however they like. However you could mention the mess stresses you out or something and that might convince him to clean up a little?

I know, I know. I could try that.. I mean I mentioned the random socks on the floor and he started picking them up.

Have you considered that the majority of the mess could be his brothers? It sounds a bit like it ...

Have you considered that he's not messy and it's somehow else in the house who is hoarding?

I doubt it's his brother. The Furniture is kinda old stuff and the clothes laying around are his clothes. He said hes lived there since he was a kid, so that's probably his mum's doing.

My brother is messy, however we all tidy up the house and hoover the floor. I could understand if it was just a Furniture overload, it's just the piles of clothes..and dirty floors i don't get.I mean the clothes weren't even in clothes baskets, they were laying in the hallway.
