# AQA A2 Mathematics MM2B Mechanics 2 - Monday 22nd June 2015 [Exam Discussion Thread] watch

1. Same, although i got it in the form 2-root3 but it is still 0.268
2. (Original post by kingkendrick)
In q2 the centre of mass given was 4.95? Or 4.77? Can't remember
4.3 i think
3. (Original post by kingkendrick)
Then I think my AC was 4.85 because it was 0.55+centre of mass (4.3?)
yes, could you explain your method please?
i cant remember
4. Question 9... (2 - Root 3)

5. Here's what I did...

Don't think it's right as nobody I spoke to got these values, but hopefully method marks! I used similar triangles to get the length PT.

6. I know this is really awkward of me but is there any chance of the number of marks going next to unoffical mark scheme really can't remember them?

Question 9... (2 - Root 3)
I got the same but my teacher said u CAN be above 1? I'm hoping that it's still correct though
8. Verdict for grade boundaries for a*???

Verdict for grade boundaries for a*???
63 to 70

It could go either way depending on how irritating AQA are.

But; I am pretty sure (unless you're doing FM?) that the A* is awarded on C3 and C4 only though...
10. Can anyone verify the true answer to Q9? There seems to be some disagreement?

I didn't even answer it so I don't know.

Also, can some people help me collect marks for certain questions? I know the last one was 8?

I think question 5 ( about washing machine) was 6 and the one about power (think it was q6) was 9 marks

14. Any more amendments?

15. 2-root3 here as well for question 9, and I'm pretty sure about it

The quadratic I got for mu was mu^2 -4mu +1 = 0
16. On question 4 I had my calculator in radians. How many marks would I lose when I have shown the correct working for each part

I got the same, and I think this should be the correct answer
