Now that I have graduated I actually have reason to make use of a cheap travel card (as my Uni was only a bus ride away), however the system to obtain one seems very strict.

I still have my .ac.uk email account, and a 3 year NUS card despite graduating, and was hoping I'd be able to swindle at least a years worth of a Student Oyster so that I can reap the benefits of affordable travel.

Anyone have any experience with this?

My main concern is their asking for the enrolment number.
