Just a few questions about university life

What do people do in Freshers week? Does everybody go or just people who are moving in to the uni? Also, is it true that if you don't move into uni, your social life suffers?

    Hi,

Freshers week is a really fun week and a great chance to get to know people. During the day times during my Freshers week, there was a fair where a bunch of different societies were advertised. And the night time people go out to the student bar, pubs, clubs etc. Pre drinks is also a good time to get to know everyone!

If you don't move into University, it will definitely be harder to have a good social life. For a start, if you aren't living in the halls, who are you going to go out with during Freshers week? People tend to go out with their hallmates during Freshers. Also, people tend not to make a ton friends in lectures/seminars. I guess everyone is different, but from my experience there is very little socializing in lectures/seminars. So if you didn't live in halls, I guess the only way to really meet people would be from societies? People do tend to make friends at societies, but once again, if you aren't staying in halls it's going to make you unsociable if you don't have anywhere to stay, as you won't be able to out clubbing with your societies etc.

So the moral of the story is to MOVE IN TO UNIVERSITY HALLS if you want a good social life!

I started studying, not a party person. Was in halls and all my flatmates just partied everyday.

I'm in halls and pretty much have 0 social life at university. All my social life is where I used to reside so I go home every weekend anyway.

PS: I study and live in London.

You should have made an effort tbh, you can have a perfectly balanced social/work life
