Although I did get the same answer, I didn't use that method. Instead I simply subtracted the variances due to the dependence of the two samples and used that value. It did work but I'm wondering how many marks I would get?

    I hate S3.
I DID THE same as you!!!!! Just did minus U bar because not independent, I got write answer hopefully we get all the marks but working out wrong? How many marks do people think we will get? Does answer get all marks

Like I promised earlier, I am posting the questions from S3. I don't know how useful it is to everyone, but I hope people can come up with an unofficial. And, I must say it is a very tricky paper.
Have you got 6a)? I've done solutions for 1-5 btw

I don't think so. Wasn't it a continuous uniform, not discrete

I think we would get 2 marks if the examiner is fairly competent or 5-6 marks if the examiner doesn't know what they are doing.

i think we should all post how many marks on we lost (on avg), after an unofficial markscheme to calculate an unoffical grade boundary (maybe it will help us feel better about the paper lol)

No idea, though you should get all the method marks available so maybe 4-5?
