Hi I have a question regarding crystal formations:

calcium oxalate monohydrate parallel to the (100) and (010) faces of the crystal.

What does this (100) and (010) mean? I know they are miller indices but I

    Size of crystals are: (100) 0.6 10^-6m

    (010) 1.3 10^-6m

How does these miller indices have an effect?

    Any help is greatly appreciated

Miller indices are a notation to represent planes through a crystal. There'll be a better explanation online if you search for it as they can add pictures easily.
