How do you get a starts?

Seriously just revise gcses are pretty easy, never let a teacher discourage you. Do past papers for maths and learn the revision guides for science. simple 4A*S there. English depends on talent tbh i was never that good at it, just learn how to answer the question properly, like the layout of the paper. For the rest just learn a revision guide, and if you do a language then i'm not sure if revising helps.
Find out your exam board for every subject, get a book for the subject of the exam board, read it as much as u can, remember the whole book, get 100 umps or A* in every subject! I'm lazy but I wanna do the same. Need to change lol seriously but meh.

If u want A* in maths u can ask me for help on topics I can help coz I am like an A* kinda or an low A but by june I'll hopefully be A* first mock is January 5th.

Your chances will get even better when you check your work before submitting it.

Perfectly. I know someone who got all B's/C's in their mocks and ended up with 7A*'s 3A's. Work hard now and you'll get good results

Go for it

As others have said, put some effort into revising hard and start early - even if you're predicted lower grades don't let that hold you back  One thing I regret not doing at GCSE was making the most of the resources exam boards publish for free online - so look on yoiur exam boards website and find the 'specification' for each of your subjects. This you can use as a check-list to make sure you have covered and revised every topic they can test you on in the exam  Also do at least 5 past papers for each subject, and use the mark schemes to check your answers. It is SO important to practice the exams - since so many marks can be lost by poor exam technique.

For some subjects, you literally just need to memorise a revision guide - for examples the sciences. For English, Maths, Humanities, Languages, etc. I found it really helpful just to keep practicing essays/ exam questions so make sure I understood everything and was confident in the exam. Some specialised revision guides (e.g. the York Notes ones for English Lit) can also be useful. For some subjects, I made summary notes to make the imformation more concise and to help me learn it. I also made posters for the science subjects and stuck them all over my room

You need to know the exam structure, do lots of practice questions and remember lots of specific facts, people and dates

I don't want to give you advice specific to AQA if you're not sure you're on that exam board (as if you are on Edexcel and I give you tips for the AQA exam it could make things worse) In essence though, yes that's what I did :yep:
Also, since no-one else has said this yet, all exam boards publish an 'examiners report' for each exam (it's usually in the section with past-papers and mark schemes). I find these really useful since I found out about them. It's basically the examiner saying what the common pit-falls are and how candidates can improve - this is especially helpfull for subjects like english language where once you know the 'tricks of the trade', getting the marks is a hell-of-a-lot eaiser!
It's certainly possible, if you work for it. Even if you don't get a full row of A* on your results slip, working extra hard will lift you above Bs and Cs and that is something to be proud of.
