    LOL

In my University the debating society has a reputation for being a pile of snobs yet when I was in first year everyone was really great to me and I made most my friends there.

Personally, no. It really is full of "rahs" and future back bench Tory MPs.

Yes, got cheap trips to turkey and germany through it and is possiblely the most fullfilling thing i have ever done at university. The society at my university isn't rahish at all and is full of normal students who have an interest in world affairs.

'Yahs' tends to be the predominant term for them where I am.

And they do actually say 'yah' quite a lot too.

    Lol. My friend says 'yah'.

My fave description of a rah on urban dictionary is this:

For example, in a wealthy public school a rah may have to envoke an image of old aristocracy and do so in a pompous and superior manner - usually demonstrated in an expensive, flamboyant lifestyle and often loudly declared opinion.

Adept for the old debate club, then!
