Do you get easily distracted otherwise or is it only when trying to revise/study?

Have you been diagnosed with ADD/ADHD ?

Everytime I sit down and study my mind wanders of somewhere. I try and focus but I can't. I don't listen to music while I study (though I have tried it). I also put all my gadgets away and anything that can distract me and lock myself in my room. I have even been to the library multiple times. I have tried studying with my friends. I also sit down with my mum as much as I can and that is the only time I manage to study a little but because she is always busy she doesn't have that much time. I have tried EVERYTHING!!! Please Help...

I'm the same. It's natural because revision is, by its nature, very boring.

What helped me was making and re-making revision notes, again and again. The minute I tell myself I am "just going to read over notes" I just don't do anything and physically can't concentrate. Writing down the notes helps it stick in my brain and is, for me at least, a lot easier to focus on.

Thank you i'll try it. i've done this before and this is a method that sometimes works for me it's just that i get distracted really easily
I know the feeling! Also I can usually only concentrate well in the library. Something about the combination of being around other people who are working, but also being in silence. Good luck

You may want to consider some test for ADHD or something simillar.

i have the same issue. not focusing
can bring down grades..naybe something is bothering you like wanting to do so well that you mess up and use the time in stressing out rather than producing work and getting distracted in other things. keep a timetable and discipline yourself to follow it so u get used to it. good luck!

Yes there is something wrong with you. I don't think you want good grades at the end of the year.. If you really want it then you'll have no problem working harder for the grades

I do get easily distracted all the time especially in class and i've never been diagnosed with ADD/ADHD
I'd consider seeing a doctor if I were you. My boyfriend has had that same problem for a few years and was recently diagnosed with ADHD. The pills he was prescribed have really helped him and have helped improve his concentration levels tho when off the pills his attention span is like that of a monkey
Anyways, I'm just saying you might want to consider seeing a specialist if it's not just revision that can't keep your attention.

Clearly the OP does want to be able to work hard and get good grades, otherwise they would not be asking for advice to solve their concentration issues. It is not easy for everyone, particularly if it turns out that the OP may have a condition such as ADHD. Don't be so smug and condescending.

If they have ADHD then they should consult a doctor not a bunch of strangers online. And I'm not being smug or condescending thank you very much, I'm just stating the obvious and being brutally honest.. Something that people like you fail to do.

I could be brutally honest about my impression of you based upon these posts but I'll hold my tongue
