Would you rather have the current system of SF or a graduate tax, instead of Universities having a loan to pay back, have 3% of your salary deducted each year (starting at £0) and have it at 4% if you take out a maintenance loan.
I think I'd prefer a tax at those rates than the current system as you wouldn't be being forced to pay an extortionate amount of your income and the average graduate would pay back all of their loan +a bit extra. Say you take out a loan of 27k and the average graduate earns £25k you would pay back £36000 if you worked for 48 years which is quite likely.
