find people difficult to talk to now that I'm off heroine

I use to be a heroine addict about 5 years ago, I quit because I wanted to go to university and sort myself out, I use to have very bad anxiety attacks so I used it to mask it, use to be a social outcast and bit of a loner.

Because of this I have a slow reaction to responding to people and not understanding what he/she is saying, I am not a naturally confident person so I think people feel awkward when talking to me. I find normal conversations difficult to concentrate on.

I'm living in student housing now and want to tell people why I like way I am but I want people be scared of me or some messed up character.

I'm like this without the heroin past
I find using non-verbal ques to show someone you're listening can be helpful
