    On the language and gender question, when mentioning the theorist do you just put their names in brackets? Is that a sufficient mention, or do you need to put, Robin Lakoff put forward this theory etc...?

    You should always mention the theorist in the sentence, otherwise it makes it seem that you're claiming to have made up the theory. You can say things like 'According to 'x' this is...', 'this is... using 'x's theory of 'y'' etc
