It's best to boil the watter in a kettle and then drink it. Never drink water directly from a tap.

I've drank tap water since birth and have successfully graduated. There is nothing to worry about unless you taste or see something dodgy in your tap water. Otherwise tap water is fine.

The tap water here is gross!

I think tap water contains a lot of carbon dioxide or something like that.

I think it's fine to drink, but doesn't taste very good...maybe a water filter would make it taste better.

Did you even take science in high school? By your logic all tap water is fizzy.

Tap water contains a lot of chlorine. Chlorine kills germs. Hence, tap water has no germs.

All this poor guy wanted to know is "can you drink it".
The answer is YES!

p.s. who agrees with the "If you don't know, don't reply" rule?

All British tap water is safe to drink. It is safer than bottled water. I've been drinking it all my life. Personally I am quite happy drinking London tap water. I like it better than the taste of soft water that you get in some places.

If you don't like the tase you can filter it or buy bottled water but you don't need to.

Chlorine is not good for you if you drink tap water for a long period of time. Bottled water and boiled water contains no Chlorine. Anyway, I drink milk, not water.

Tell me to shut up, but for goodness sake. How would boiling it remove the chlorine? I appreciate that you're trying to be helpful and you might not be a chemistry god, but don't just make it up.

Well so long as the farmer doesn't give the cows water from any sort of tap you're okay

Yeah isn't water in London and the South generally softer than water up North? I prefer the taste of Northern water though
Reply 17
It's perfectly safe, although it is very hard, so you might want to filter it before drinking else it can seem a bit 'bitty'.

why does every1 keep posting to this complete farce of a thread i mean ****ing hell its water drink the stuff when u thirsty and clean ur arse with it when its dirty.
I live in north-west london, and i think the tap water i fine to drink. But ever since im moved to Halls at Queen Mary in halls...the tap water is horrendous. So now i buy mineral water from budgens ever week coz i dont like the taste of the tap water. It's probably fine to drink though...but i just dont like the taste. And im not usually fussy when it comes to food or water.
