I would have to see some evidence for and against before I drew any conclusions.

From the stuff i've read skin cancer is a risk.

Reply 4

Along with many things nowadays but I want to know if any other sunbed users have stopped because of the risk.

Reply 5

I never started because of it. Well, that and I don't like the lobster look so much.

Reply 6

Other less conventional risks include slipped disks in your back, as a friend of mine learnt getting off one of the beds. She has been basically unable to move for a month now.

I used to go on the sunbeds probably the same amount of time that you seem to be, and so did my brother. Anyways, he had an appointment at the dermatologists and basically the DR thought that he might have skin cancer. Thankfully he didn't, but yea, that scare put me off and I haven't been on since.

why bother? sunbeds cause your skin to age faster too so your better off avoiding them.

whats so bad about having pale skin?
whats so great about a tan, why does everyone want one?

I burn so easily even wen im caked in suncream so i tend to avoid the sun. in january im going to Africa for 8months to teach so i cant really avoid the sun i was thinking of goin on the sunbed before i went to tone my skin a bit so i dont burn so easily, this worked last year when i went to gran canaria. I didnt burn atall after goin on the sunbed but a week in minehead this year with not going on the sunbed left me lookin like a tomato. Im presuming goin on the sunbed every now and then can only be as bad as getting badly sunburnt?

do what the chinese do and buy a sun umbrella and a big sunhat. light clothes to cover your arms and shoulders also help.
