Hi there, I took these exams last year and did very well in them and was wondering if anyone needs any assistance in the new year with units 1 or 2.

I studied all of unit 1 obviously, and Extreme Weather and Rebranding Places in unit 2.

I'm applying for Geography at university and I feel helping other people would be a good way for me to keep on top of topics I may forget while studying the A2.

Hm it might be a bit early days but what I basically did was do as many past papers as possible and focus on the mark schemes. They'll help you see what your exam board wants to see and what kind of structure they want etc

My main one was Manchester and how the Commonwealth games helped rebrand it as we went on fieldwork there, so for the like 15 markers on how you'd carry out an investigation that was what I used

But I'm fairly sure I did mention London Olympics in a 10 marker!

Ah that sound good was it challenging or did you manage it ok? Did you also prefer it to unit 1?

I found unit 2 is be easier than unit 1 just because the 15 markers are very predictable if you look through past papers and you can quite easily adapt what you know/make up stuff for the exam once you know what the examiners want, buuuuut I preferred unit 1 because it's actually interesting to me at least.

Unit 1 definitely has some tricky parts like in my exam they asked us to define carbon footprint and I'm fairly sure it's never defined in the textbook so!

Hm I don't think it felt like coursework because I hate coursework haha

And yes I fully agree! The courses I'm applying to are environmental/physical geography, human is so boring! Revising it was the worst part of AS because of how boring it is haha

Hm something sciency like something in climatology maybe? Climate change is probably my favourite aspect of the subject so anything like that would make me happy Tbh I wouldn't mind being a Geography teacher!
