For my English studies coursework, I am writing a non fiction (factual) piece of writing. My idea for this coursework is about a dilemma, in the coursework I will be talking about a US border patrol officer struggling to make a decision on whether or not to allow poor immigrants over to USA as they want to achieve the American dream and earn money to survive.
The border patrol officer knows he shouldn't allow illegal people over to America, however he feels sad for them as he knows America will allow them to survive as the american dream was more attainable during that era/time
Also what background should the illegal immigrants be Mexican? Chinese?
I'm also unsure of whether or not to set this back in the 1930's-1950's as the Great Depression was being experienced in America.
Note: The coursework consists of over 1000 words, so the text must be detailed
types of non fiction texts:
-Newspaper or magazine articles
Should my text be in first person? third person?
