Richmond University - the american university in london!

hi i am from scotland and am applying to universities in both the uk and usa but i recently heard of the university of richmond- which gives you a degree "supposedly" respected in the UK and the USA but noone seems to know a thing about it!!!

Some say that because it trys to cover both types of university teaching, neither country thinks it is all that good!

any help on the reputation of the uni, the way in which you study or any general information would be great!

Thanks very much

If no one knows about it, take a hint. Probably not the best of places to go to.

Well, if neither country thinks it's any good, your employment chances in both countries would be nonexistent. American unis in other countries aren't usually up to scratch. If you want to attend an american uni, go to America.

The uni is is Richmond upon Thames, which is quite some way from central London - I'd say at least 3/4 an hour by train. I often go past the campus on the bus and it seems quite small, although I've never been in there so I can't comment on the facilities. I've heard that it has a good reputation for some degrees (I think it was fashion or something like that), although I don't think it's a popular choice for UK students, mainly because you'd have to pay whacking great fees, as it's a privately run American university. It has a bit of a reputation as being a uni for rich less academic American kids, although tbh you don't really hear anything about it locally, ie the sports teams don't play against local unis or anything.
It's not known in the US at all. Staying in Scotland would be better than going to Richmond.

Richmond is on the district line and it takes around 20/30 minutes to get into central London.

Faster to go with the Nazis of South West Trains than the Underground. Richmond Uni is the sort of Uni youd only go to via clearing ie you got rejected by your other 6 choices, but its probably still a hell of a lot better than for example London Met.
