Many very popular Lebanese bloggers and authors, like Gino Raidy (Gino's blog), Nasri Atallah, Joumana Haddad. There is a significant and growing community of liberals in Lebanon, particularly among the younger generation.
Clearly you do not live in Lebanon? Have you seen how Haifa Wehbe, Maya Diab, Myriam Fares...dress up? I am 100% sure that those comments on Nancy Agram were not made by Lebanese. Even the weather forecasters and female comedians and actresses barely have any clothes on them (not something I am proud of, and I do think they need to present themselves more professionally). The Middle East is a very big geographic area, the norms in Saudi Arabia differ from those in Lebanon.

I'm actually part Syrian and Syria is pretty much identical to Lebanon,we have women that dress however they like(well before the war anyway)

Most of the women on aljazeera Arabic don't dress so modestly as a foreigner would expect a woman in the Middle East to, but times are changing in the arab world and it's becoming part westernised at a fast pace.

I agree. It is becoming Westernized. In Lebanon, women dress the way they want in most areas. In the more conservative areas, they will be eyed weirdly (especially from old grandmas or grandpas). I know quite a lot of Syrians myself, never a Coptic though. I am partly Lebanese, from a Christian Maronite background myself . I hope we regain peace back to our countries. Have a great night
