Girls acting weird towards me

I dont know why, but i've noticed that some girls seem to have a problem with me without even knowing me. Ive noticed this more since coming to uni. Usually it happens when I'm with a male friend, and they introduce me to one of their female friends. I'm 18, female and I make an effort to be friendly. Most of the time when im introduced to another girl by a male friend, the girl will be really cold towards me and actually ignore me. This has happened about 3 times and Im getting sick of it! They sort of look me up and down (which makes me really uncomfortable) then blank me. Its so pathetic, and i dont know why they do it. Do they see me as some sort of threat? Why act so childish?! Does anyone else have this problem and do you think i should try harder to make friends with them or just not bother?

Only thing I can think of is that you are an interloper into what they have targeted as an interest to them. Not sure? Do you consider yourself a tomboy or a girly girl? I've noticed that some girls can be threatened by girls who are sorta tomboyish.

If your very attractive, then its obviously jealousy.

Or forgetting attractiveness, maybe theres something in your body language thats coming across as wrong or hostile? Have a word with someone you trust, there might be a silly little detail putting other people off you.

But yeah, theyre probably seeing you as a threat.

I get this a lot - not saying I am an absolute stunner. I think its their loss on a good friend for being so nasty. That's why I have always got on better with guys.

Would you find yourself chilling with these type of people normally? Generally when im with my friends and I get introduced to a type of person i wouldnt hang out with normally ie CHAV, things get quite hostile.
