At least they let you wear gloves when you row! At Lincoln we weren't allowed to wear gloves when we rowed - even when it was snowing in Torpids during my first year (it also snowed last year during Torpids...I'm detecting a theme!).
Generally "they" don't - this is te first time I've ever worn gloves to row in but at least mine have leather grips on them so they don't actually affect my rowing too much. We've got a new coach who's quite soft and fluffy - he might say something when it gets to Torpids but right now I doubt it.

Have written first part of the essay (it's a 600 word + 2500 word job... so i've done the easy bit) although I need somebody to proofread it as at the moment it's in i'm-sleepy writing!! :biggrin:

Stupid exam schools receptionist wouldn't let me take my lovely hot grande mocha into the building, so I went outside, tipped it into a plastic botle and took it in in my bag. I refuse to be done out of a hot drink!

Trying to put a snowman on the fornt quad, after the Warden and Registrar said we could - before being told to get off the grass by another tutor :frown:

Wow! We got a stern email this morning telling us we were NOT allowed to go on our quads!

Someone's destroyed my snowman too :frown:

The annoying guys in our year decided to build a bigger snowman and as a result used our snowman to provide them with lots of snow! Grrrr!!!!! They also stole our carrot too!

I've written it!! It's **** and it needs proofreading and I'm too tired to do it... but I've written it!! And the photos aren't on facebook although if you really want to see them... although I only have in my possession the cleanest of them all because I think Kate deleted the ones of me with porn star cleavage :frown:

Just got up a few hours ago after going to sleep at about eight (pm) last night, which means i missed most of the running-around-snow-ness :frown:

And YAY- i found a crime my tutor didn't know about in yesterdays tute- a guy pushed over a PC and she was ready to treat it as a normal assualt, when actually its a paticularly special bad thing to do called "assaulting a police officer in the execution of his duty" contrary to section 89 of the Police Act 1996 :p:

Craaaaaap day. Two tutes, and I MISSED my meeting this morning, argh. First tute wasn't great, I had hardly anything to say. She kept phrasing questions really oddly, so I was never sure whether or not I was on the right lines in my answers until I'd made a really long point, THEN she'd react. Bah. Second tute was alright - I was the only one with much experience of scansion so what was more or less new to everyone else was really easy for me. That's probably the only time in my Oxford career that's ever going to happen.

BUT I was free at different times to everyone else today, so I didn't get to play in the snow, and I stepped in a puddle this morning and my shoes and socks STILL aren't dry. Grr.

If you had a tute at 3, which you knew was going to be ****, would you a) do the reading that you didnt do but wrote in your essay even though you didnt understand it or b) go to the gym and do the work you missed this morning because you were still in bed after too much tequila? My conscience is telling me gym but my brain knows that's a stupid idea... But I probs won't do the reading anyway :frown:

Yes it was. But have you seen the photos? Also I just got back from an hour in Iffley gym (on a Friday night!) making up for the session I missed this morning thanks to the tequila... and the duvet :p:
