I think it depends on the individual but eventually it's very likely that an eating disorder sufferer ends up hating themselves if they "overeat" or something, as someone earlier said it's a lot to do with being in control and if you let that go then you can end up resenting yourself and feeling like you deserve to suffer almost...? Dunno if that made sense?
Basically an eating disorder may not intentionally begin as self harm but the sufferer may develop to inflict it upon theirself as a form of punishment. Either way, it IS self harm, it is harming of self.


Yeah, I agree with you. I've been through something similar, where I hate myself if I eat and I stop eating because I feel bad and need to punish myself for eating...if that makes sense?:confused: :confused:

ED's can be a form of self harm. Sometimes, people who self harm will have an eating disorder as an alternative method.

But sometimes people just have an eating disorder on its own.
