Abdominal Pain

Hi,

At the moment I am experiencing stabbing abdominal pain particularly on the left side of my body.

I have had an enlarged spleen in the past but that resolved itself so nothing was done.

I'm just worried that this has come back again, as I was told the probability of having it removed will be higher if it comes back.

Obviously I have booked an appointment at my GP's.
I just wondered If anyone else has experienced this, or whether the prospective/student medics think they sound this is alike an enlarged spleen.

I'm not really sure, but from experience, if it gets worse or stays like this for a while, then I highly recommend you go to a hospital.

Okay, I get these alot but here's a way to fix it up pretty quickly.

Sit in a chair with your back straight (Dont overdo it). Sip on COLD fruit juice (Keep taking small gulps).. Avoid paracetamol unless the pain doesnt go away after 30 minutes. Try using a microwave pack/hot water bottle to soothe the pain.. Relax and try to divert your attention from the pain. Works wonders.

Well it could be the same problem again, but a look from the doc plus a sonography would give you an answer.
Have you been to the doctor's in the meanwhile?

I've been today, and they've confirmed its an enlarged spleen...the possibility of removal is high. Then again its not the worst thing in the world that I could have.

Thanks for all your replies!
