# Edexcel IGCSE Mathematics A [12th Jan 2015] 4H predicted topics watch

1. Hi guys, I did the 3H paper yesterday and I found it pretty tough but i was wondering now that it's done if anyone has any predictions of the topics that will come up in the next exam? Seeing as we know the topics that came up in this one. Thanks!
2. No doubt there is gonna be a vector one at the end. Also some kind of difficult algebraic fraction. Surds and 3D trig as well.......those are all the hard ones that they normally put at the end that weren't on 3H. We already diff, functions etc.

On the easier side, we didn't get any transformation geometry, standard form, recurring decimals (?). I reckon we did the worst of it yesterday.
3. my paper 3H was good. ^_^ i think there will be some transformations in paper 4H

Yeah and maybe a simultaneous equation that is quadratic, or solving an equation using graphs. Also maybe a functions graph.. that didn't come up. Neither did any constructions, so they might be in it..
6. Yeah this one was easier. Only thing that got me - and I must have made a stupid mistake - was that algebraic fractions one. I did it three times through, and each time got a decimal.

What did you get?

I don't even remember- it was too difficult... the worst one was the one about column vectors and expressing vector a's magnitude :P

8. What did you guys get for the graph one where you had to solve a and b graphically using the straight line???

If you imagine a vector like two sides of a right angle triangle, X along and Y up. The magnitude is the hypotenuse, which the route of X squared and Y squared.

That was a weird one. I actually just messed around with it for AGES, and got a couple of fractions, I think like 8/7 and something similar. But I couldn't actually say that I really knew what I was doing!
11. OK, i wrote completely the wrong answer- I didn't know what i was doing :/
But thanks for that

i got a=-1 and b=-2 or something like that :/

What i did was ridiculously over complicated for only two marks, so don't think definitely right and you're wrong!

I think I got a= -7 and b= +6

Yeah i did that and got the answer as root 29. Because it was x^2= 5^2 + -4^2, therefore x^2= 29. and the answer had to be a surd, so root 29 Don't know if thats right though!
