    I was wondering if there is any good courses or things i could do to make my personal statement more interesting?

    If you have a look on iTunes U, there are loads of courses related to most topics. They're all free, and come in both audio and video. I listened to about 10-15 of them whilst doing other things, and they were the only "out of school" things I listed in my PS.

    Loderdoper had a good reply, but there's loads of stuff you could do outside of school/college that you could mention. Eg. books you read around the subject, TED talks, any non-spec work/research you have done. This could be relevant to your course or could be completely different eg. I study double maths and triple science and I mentioned that I self-study computer science/programming in my free time.
    Work experience is generally a good one to mention. It doesn't have to be relevant and mine wasn't.
    I even mentioned YouTube videos(university lectures) that I'd watched on quantum physics.



    I applied to maths/physics if that helps.
