Yes, it does. I hesitate to say so because I don't want people to smoke simply to lose weight. I guess there's no helping morons though.

I should add that the reason for the metabolism change is an increased rate of central nervous system stimulation, so you lose weight because you're twitchy. It'd be far better to take up jogging or something.

Does smoking speed it up? i heard it did, how about smoking weed? thanks

i dunno but i think models smoke to take their mind of food tbh

Reply 3

No, but nicotine is an appetite suppressant, so you'll eat less if you smoke.

However, smoking weed will only make you eat anything you can get your hands on.

Smoking will also make you age much faster and make you stink!

Reply 6

No but it kills your appetite so yes, you do lose weight.

I heard it can make you homosexual.

That's what happened with me.

But as soon as I quit I started liking girls again.

Reply 9

Some say it could be a cure to genetic homosexuality as well.

It does increase your metabolism and it also suppresses appetite, so a double whammy.

Its not smoking that does that though, its nicotine, so instead of being a ****** and smoking cigarettes - chew gum or use patches.

I think cannabis lowers your blood sugar levels.

its probably why you never see models smile, i.e. on catwalks etc....

they probably have extremely discoloured, yellowed teeth. Nasty....

Hmm i'm still seeing the side effects - ie death, outweigh the pro's

Smoking does not increase your metabolism, it merely suppresses your appetite. However, if you are trying to give up smoking and you stop and CONTROL what you eat you don;t put on weight at all. And it doesn't take everyone's mind off food either. xx

Death is a side effect of life. It cannot be avoided.

How about an earlier death?

How about living in a plastic bubble your entire life and never doing anything you enjoy because it might be harmful to you?

Reply 18

If you or someone you know wants to lose weight, do it through healthy eating & exercise, not by taking drugs that will just do more harm to your body.

Its possible to have plenty of enjoyment without giving yourself a daily dose of lung cancer in my opinion

In response to the first post though, why kill one craving by creating another? I dont understand why you would do that...

Especially one as foul as smoking - again my opinion.
