Hello, Im in my first year and desperately want to change universities and course... have i got any chance of transferring this late into the year, and if so how do i go about it? i understand i need to contact the prospective unis but what information would they require? Does student finance allow it? and would i be bound to my accommodation contract here as i am staying in halls, or would i be excused if i move out immediately for a good enough circumstance?
Were currently in exam period and the new modules do not start until Monday the 26th, so i have been wondering if i could catch it early enough maybe i could start with the new uni at the start of this term? has anybody been in a similar position? Or do i just have to ride it out and start again on a new course in September?
sorry for all of the questions! Your help would be appreciated im at a bit of a loss at the moment. Thank you

You first need to approach your target uni's Admissions Office and ask whether they would accept you on transfer. It may or may not be possible, depending on how similar your current syllabus is to theirs. They may want to you start again from the first year, but you would have enough Student Finance entitlement to do this.
If your target uni says no, then you know that you have to either ride it out where you are, or look for a different uni.
It would be very unusual to be allowed to transfer during an academic year.
If you leave now, you will most likely still be liable to pay your entire academic year's rent. When you leave, your Student Finance will stop immediately and you may be asked to repay some. That meas that you will need spare cash to pay the rent for the rest of the academic year.
