Hi all and happy new year!

Basically, I'm doing a 4 year MChem course and the third year is a year in industry placement. Ideally I want to work in something related to clean energy and sustainability, but I applied to a range of companies offering placements. I recently received an offer from a pharmaceutical company near(ish) to my university and, whilst it looks really interesting, I'm just wondering whether to take the offer as it's unrelated to my ultimate career goal.

On one hand, I feel like I should keep looking for placements in energy/ related as it would help me with contacts and industry experience specific to my aspirations. However, I don't know whether employers will think "any experience is good experience", especially if I get a good degree class. Also, past placement students have advised us to go for the first offer we get as they're really competitive.

Any advice would be really useful, I hope you're well and thanks in advance!
