What is the sensible portion per day/week?
I am obsessed with fries, I just love how they taste but concerned about how they would interfere with my health.
Why are they unhealthy?
Are there any similar but healthy substitutes?

The sensible portion per day/week? Erm, none, ideally. Maybe once a fortnight.

Small fry, not much potato, lots of oil, bad.
Big chip, many potato, little/no oil if oven-roasted, v.good.
If you like your cooked rectangular potato prisms then I highly recommend the thick ones. More potato = good.
