What is the sensible portion per day/week?

I am obsessed with fries, I just love how they taste but concerned about how they would interfere with my health.

    Why are they unhealthy?

Are there any similar but healthy substitutes?

    Thanks

    You seriously don't know?
They are fried in oil. Making oven chips yourself from potatoes or sweet potatoes would be healthier.

Yeah, they really are unhealthy. The problem is that they are cooked in hydrogenated vegetable oils (which contain saturated fats - the worst kind), but most of all, these oils are re-heated again and again so they do become nasty after a while and what you end up putting into your body is almost toxic. Not to mention the huge amounts of salt that is poured over them...

It's much better to make your own fries to be honest. You will still use oil, but at least that way you control the quality and way of cooking.

If you love fries I recommend getting an airfryer or something similar. I regularly make my own fries from either potato or sweet potato and only use around a teaspoon of oil and a little bit of black pepper or paprika
