It's a shame Palestine lost so heavily but it's really great seeing them in the position where they can participate in a major tournament after years of having their best players barred from even leaving the country for matches.

The image of North Korean fans is a great one - my guess is that they're South Koreans who travel as "One Korea". I saw NK Women at the Olympics and all of their fans were South Korean fans waving NK flags and flags with "One Korea" on them and an image of a unified Korea.

If you look at the picture, it just seems like caucasian people.
The only South Koreans who buy into the whole unified Korea are old people who have close relatives back in the North. The vast majority, especially the young, see the Korean Peninsula as two Koreas.

Yeah good point, could only see the thumbnail of the photo from my phone. That'll teach me for making assumptions! Thanks for pointing it out and teaching me something.

I've read some lovely pieces on Palestine's entry to the tournament and the small selection of Palestinians in Australia supporting the team. If they score a goal, it'll be progress. Tough ask still in their group.

That Qatari keeper is one of the worst I've seen at a major finals. :indiff: Shame to see Bahrain go out, I've had a soft spot for them since 2006.
