Most questions were really confusing. I probably wrote something totally unrelated for most of them. I chose A.. Because it said something about it branching off from the group that leads to all other penguin species.. What did you choose?

YES! That last question was SO confusing. I didn't even understand it properly!! It was about the twins right? I said if they are identical, they are genetically similar so any differences would be due to the environment and vice versa. It sounds better here when I think about it. My answer was more messed up than this xD

I wrote the same exact answer as u for the palm trees one .. But for the last one my answer was so messy that i dont even understand what i wrote but i remember saying that the identical twins have the same genotype and non identical twins have different genotypes so the 9% difference between 20% and 11% is due to environment i assure u that i dont even understand what i wrote and i doubt u do

my answer for the female date palms is totally wrong coz im supposed to write about specialisation but i just the definition of tissue culture (haha) specialisation didnt even come to my mind when i was reading the question .. Wbu

It could be sclerenchyma or xylem I think, I think I might've changed my mind 3 times during the exam. Cause there was something about cells, but xylem doesn't really have cells (they're dead) so it confused me.

I chose D too, cause it said that the emperor penguin was the first to branch off, and if you noticed D was the first to separate from the group - it was the first branch on the line that lead to A (the last species to evolve)

Allow sexual reproduction & therefore maintain high genetic variation and a large gene pool.

For the tissue culture I wrote about the use of explants from a parent plant with desirable characteristics, and to place these in a medium with nutrients. They would then grow to form full individuals genetically identical to the parent plant. (Idk how many marks it was, so maybe I might've lost one along the way)

what did u write for the question about the effect of damaged acrosomes on fertilisation
I said reduces chances of the sperm penetrating the egg cell, so reduced fertilisation. This is because the acrosome contains enzymes that are essential for the destruction of the follicle cells & the zona pellucida that surround the egg cell. So with a damaged acrosome the sperm cell will find i more difficult to overcome these barriers.
